The DPa 4288 is a headband microphone.

One of the clearest, most consistent and powerful miniature microphone series already on the market, the former d:fine 4088 from DPA is renowned for its wide dynamic range and low distortion at all sound pressure levels.
And now, DPA's CORE technology allows you to achieve even more performance with an additional 14 dB THD and dynamic range :
Total Harmonic Distortion: < 1% THD up to 137 dB peak SPL
Dynamic range, typical: 111 dB
Increase in dynamic range = Increase in working range
Increased dynamic range = less vulnerable to overloads:
