Stagepiano
The Kawai MP7 is a professional 88-key stage piano with wooden keys and escapement simulation for a highly realistic playing experience. It features the Harmonic Imaging sound engine, based on 88-key piano sampling.
Main Highlights of the Kawai MP7
- The powerful audio processor of the MP7 elevates sonic realism to a whole new level with new high-resolution effects. Apply modulated resonances to acoustic piano sounds, warm up electric pianos with analog-style amplifier simulators, and recreate distinct echo environments.
- Four independently configurable zones to control internal sounds, external MIDI devices, or both simultaneously. Level attenuators provide control over multi-layered sounds, and the enhanced split functionality allows you to easily split any zone or assign it to a custom range of keys.
Features of the Kawai MP7 Keyboard
Diverse and Adjustable Piano Sounds
A wide range of beautiful grand piano sounds, including concert, pop, jazz, and traditional upright pianos, all perfectly tuned and equipped with microphones to suit various musical styles. Play the original sounds or dive into our Virtual Technician section to fine-tune the piano to your touch.
Advanced Keyboard Mechanics and Realistic Performance
The Responsive Hammer II keyboard mechanism recreates the touch of an acoustic grand piano, with realistic movement allowing for natural and fluid performance. The three-sensor touch detection, ivory-like surfaces, and authentic escapement simulation ensure highly realistic performance with the MP7.
Explore New Possibilities with the Kawai MP7
Record and reuse every customized sound, rotary knob position, attenuator level, and adjustable parameter with just the press of a button. With over 250 configuration memories, the MP7 is perfect for busy concert musicians who like to plan multiple performances in advance before going on tour.
Our Experts' Opinion
- A large graphical LCD screen, four assignable real-time control knobs, and a well-organized, ready-to-use interface. Leave the manual in a corner and focus on your performance rather than trying to remember the function of each button.
- The wooden side panels with elegant finishes, glossy black paint, and the enhanced cover displaying the Kawai family name give the MP7 a distinctive acoustic presence. Its sturdy aluminum and steel chassis and reinforced base reassure musicians that this instrument is built for the stage.
- A completely new tonewheel organ simulation, with nine real-time adjustable drawbars, authentic percussion controls, and vintage chorus/vibrato settings. Adjust the characteristics of the organ's rotating speaker and use the MP7's mix attenuators to fine-tune the drawbar recordings on-screen.
- A treasure trove of tines, reeds, and modern electric pianos, antique-sounding keyboards, and a sampled grand electric piano, each sampled with precision to preserve the instruments' unique qualities and imperfections. Play pure sounds or apply over 100 different effects, each fully adjustable.
