John Cruz, the legendary masterbuilder of the Fender Custom Shop from 1987 to 2020, launched his own brand John Cruz Custom Guitars in 2021. He created instruments for iconic players like SRV (No. 1), Gary Moore, John Mayer ("Black One") to name a few. With many years of experience and such a knowledge his creations are true masterpieces.
This JOHN CRUZ CUSTOM GUITARS Crossville ST #JC01020622 is the guitar of one life. It remains true to his credence that Fender guitars should not be too light for sound reasons (he has never been conviced by an authentic vintage originals with a weight of at least 3.5 kg). Cruz believes that a light Strat respond faster, is more resonant, but often have a thinner midrange. Heavier Strats have is preference for bluesy and more distorted tones with a smoother, fatter, more powerful sound with more sustain too.
This unit produces a very fat sound, with amazing warmth, fullness, fast response and incredible string separation.
