Roger Sadowsky's goal was always to further improve an already very successful bass design by making a number of detailed improvements. Along with the electronics, which he developed by himself, he succeeded to raise the well-known M/J bass sound to a new level, so today you can speak of a typical Sadowsky tone : never harsh or shrill sounding, with strong, powerful but never muddy bass, with present, but not too aggressive mids, and a sweet and airy treble range.

The SADOWSKY MetroLine 21-Fret Vintage M/J Bass, Red Alder Body, Morado Fingerboard, 4-String (SML21MJ4 32 ALD FR), seen here in a Solid Dark Lake Placid Blue Metallic High Polish finish, features a sleek, undersized, chambered J-Style body that is made of American Red Alder. The neck is made of American Maple and features a Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboard. Special features of this bass include Sadowsky M and J pickups, active electronics with true bypass, Vintage Tone Control, treble and bass boost, and two 3-way toggle switches for pickup configuration (series / parallel / single coil).
